Board of Directors

The Board of Directors provides strategic direction and establishes the operating policies of the Red Door.

The Board is comprised of twelve volunteers with a range of skills and experience.  Board members are elected at the Annual General Meeting.

Board members serve for three-year terms with a maximum of two consecutive terms, helping to ensure that the Board represents the community it serves.  The Board recruits for broad multicultural representation.

Members of the Board of Directors:

  • Christine Mapp-Batchelor, President
  • Barbara Campbell, Treasurer
  • Denise Gordon-Mohamud
  • Anna Murray
  • Ben Pham
  • Adil Ahmad
  • Kerstin Moller
  • Leslie Kaufman
  • Jill Worthy

To qualify, you need to:

  • Be over the age of eighteen
  • Submit a letter of interest to the President
  • Attend an interview with the Nominating committee
  • Have skills and/or experience in a specific area of expertise (e.g., financial management, human resources, strategic planning, development, marketing, communications, event planning, legal, and service delivery)
  • Have knowledge of or a commitment to learn more about the needs of people living on low incomes

Duties include but may not be limited to:  

  • Attendance at regularly scheduled Board and Committee meetings.
  • Take a leadership role in events or projects as required.  
  • Act as an ambassador for Red Door Shelter.
