Behind the Red Door

In October 2008, the Red Door Family Shelter began bi-monthly one hour, Introductory Tours of our family shelter. The response and support from the community has been overwhelming!

Community involvement is the life blood of the Red Door Family Shelter. We are currently working to grow greater links with individuals, bussinesses and foundations in the Greater Toronto community in order to create a greater awareness of family homelessness.

Family homelessness is often considered invisible homelessness. An important part of the work that we do at the Red Door is breaking down the barriers that cause family homelessness and feed the cycle that keeps families in the shelter system.

Our goal is to end family homelessness one family at a time and we would like to invite you through the Red Doors to see how we accomplish this.  You will have the opportunity to meet our staff,  and see first hand how we are changing lives and your community each and every day.
