Local residents gathered on July 2nd, 2015, at the Ralph Thornton Community Centre to learn more about the proposed new development at 875 Queen St. E.
City staff as well as Councillor Fletcher, developer Chris Harhay and Red Door Executive Director, Bernnitta Hawkins (retired) were there to answer questions from the floor.
If approved by City Council in February 2016, the new family shelter will be a 20,000 sq. ft. modern sanctuary that supports the dignity of each resident. Each family will have the privacy of their own bedroom and bathroom and there will be space for vital support programs, as well as a state-of-the-art industrial kitchen.
