Non-Monetary Gifts - FAQ

What items are you most in need of?

You can find a list of our highest need items and all other items that we are currently accepting here - What we need.

What are your drop off hours?

Always check with our in-kind donation coordinator (416-915-5671 x234, first before dropping off items.  Drop off times can be arranged between 9am and 5pm, Monday - Friday.

Where do I drop off donations?

Once you've arranged your donation with our in-kind donation coordinator (416-915-5671 x234,, we receive all donations at our adminstrative office at 21 Carlaw Ave.

Is there a deadline for holiday gifts?

In order for families to receive the gifts for December 25th, we must receive all items by December 14th, 2020.  If you are unable to deliver items before the deadline, please contact our In-Kind Coordinator directly (416-915-5671 x234, or one of our holiday partners.

Do you provide tax-receipts for non-monetary gifts?

No. The Red Door adheres strictly to the provisions of the Income Tax Act and regulations. Property of little or only nominal value --e.g. used clothing, furniture etc-- does not qualify as a receiptable donation-in-kind. Gifts of services do not qualify.  We are not able to provide tax-receipts for non-monetary gifts.  For more information please call 416-915-5671, ext 232, or email
