I’m not a much of a runner, can I still participate?
Yes, you can! You can walk the 5k in either of the Yorkville & Scotiabank events.
Do I have to run at a certain time?
It’s your run/walk, your way! Run/walk anytime or anywhere from September 13-17th for the Yorkville Run or from October 1st-31st for the STWM.
Do you have to join a team?
No, but it can be a great way to have fun! Grab your friends or co-workers and plan your own socially- distanced event.
Can my kids run with me?
They sure can! Last year, our youngest Team Red Door member won his age category in the Yorkville Run at only 10 years old! The new Scotiabank 5K Kids Race entry comes with an 8-week training program focusing on kid-friendly training exercises and activities to get ready for a 5K by October.
I am long-distance runner. Which event is best for me?
Along with the traditional marathon and half-marathon, this year, the STWM also introduced the Marathon Relay. The 4-Person Marathon Relay is a fun way to enjoy some running camaraderie, while practicing social distancing. Complete 42.2K, while only having to run a quarter of the distance! Your team has the month of October to run your marathon and each member will complete 10.55K.
What’s in the race kits?
The Yorkville 5K Run is known for its fabulous race kit and this year is no exception! Both race kits come with technical race-branded t-shirts and starting medals.
What about prizes?
Every entry into the STWM is eligible to win prize packs from their sponsors. The Yorkville Run has an amazing fundraising incentive program based on the amount of funds raised. For example, if a participant raises $500-999, they will receive a fabulous prize package including $75 in Amazon and Eataly Gift Cards.
