City Council Approves Financing for our New Shelter

We are thrilled to announce that Toronto City Council has unanimously approved the financing to build the new Red Door shelter at 875 Queen East.

Our new facility will have 20,000 feet of brand new, purpose built shelter space with 94 beds.  The City of Toronto will build and own the shelter space on the property and lease it to the Red Door at a nominal cost ($1/annum).

Thank you Paula Fletcher for your tremendous support!

This is a major victory for us, but it is not over yet. We need to raise $3 million by December 2015 for equipment, furnishings and resident services at the new shelter.

Please donate to support our campaign. Your support of the Red Door is an investment in help and hope for those who need it most.

Bernnitta Hawkins (ED), Rachel Grinberg (Board President), Mayor John Tory, Christine Ernst (Board Member), Councilor Paula Fletcher, and Ann Elliott (Board VP).
