Protecting our Clients, Staff and Community

Updated June 4th, 2020

Ontario has extended the provincial Declaration of Emergency until June 30th in response to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. The Red Door Family Shelter remains committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of our clients, staff and community as we go through this challenging time together.

We continue to provide emergency shelter for homeless families and for women and children escaping domestic abuse. We are also serving outreach clients, who are former residents building new lives in their own homes.

We are implementing all measures mandated by Toronto Public Health including cleaning protocols, physical distancing, and PPE. We have cancelled many support programs and our volunteer program however our weekly food bank for former residents is operating with new measures in place for staff and client safety.

We will continue to monitor the situation and respond accordingly. Thank you for your support of our work with homeless families. For 4 ways you can help today please visit:  https://www.reddoorshelter.ca/how-you-can-help-our-families-now
