Charity Intelligence Canada, a new non-profit organization that researches and analyzes Canada's charities to enable funders to make informed and effective giving decisions, deemed the Red Door Family Shelter as one of their Recommended Charities for the 2009-2010 year. The Red Door was submitted to an intense level of analysis of our financials and service outcomes and we emerged as once of their recommended charities for 2009.

In the spirit of giving and in celebration of its 35th anniversary, the One of a Kind Christmas Show and Sale will be donating a portion of its proceeds this year to the Red Door Family Shelter. 35 cents of every ticket sale on December 2nd will go directly to Red Door.
The Red Door Family Shelter promotes holiday giving opportunities to individuals within the community in support of our families.

Special guests, volunteers and staff gathered on Tuesday, Aug 19th 2008, to celebrate the reopening of the abused women’s shelter of the Red Door Family Shelter. After completing extensive renovations over the past year, this fifty bed shelter will provide urgently needed counselling, case management, housing and outreach services and workshops for abused women and their children.
Across Canada, mothers were honoured on May 11. But for those living in shelters, the day does not always arrive with the pampering and celebrations that many of us take for granted.
