Today, City Council voted unanimously to approve Councillor Paula Fletcher’s motion to help secure the long-term future of the Red Door Shelter.

This is a major accomplishment and would not have been possible without the outpouring of support from our entire community and the more than 50,000 supporters who signed the Save the Red Door petition, presented at City Council this morning.

To all our supporters,

I want to thank you for the incredible outpouring of support that we have received around our Save the Red Door campaign.

Thanks to you we now have over 48,000 petition signatures and we have gotten the attention and support of many politicians in our community.   At our last community meeting, former Mayor David Crombie joined our fight, and is now heading a leadership team who are reaching out to all levels of government for support.
