We are thrilled to announce that Toronto City Council has unanimously approved the financing to build the new Red Door shelter at 875 Queen East.
Our new facility will have 20,000 feet of brand new, purpose built shelter space with 94 beds. The City of Toronto will build and own the shelter space on the property and lease it to the Red Door at a nominal cost ($1/annum).
Thank you Paula Fletcher for your tremendous support!
Our Capital Campaign to raise funds for equipment, furnishings and resident services at our new shelter is underway.
We have exciting plans to help transform the lives of homeless families by delivering high-quality support services in a new purpose-built family shelter that will replace our aging and inadequate facility. Construction is expected to start in late 2016 and be completed in late 2018. Learn more about our campaign.
We're thrilled to announce that Team Red Door raised over $12,700 (and still counting...) in the Toronto Yonge Street 10k!
The Red Door was chosen as the official charity for the run this year, and over 50 runners and walkers joined our team to fundraise in support of our Children's Programs.
Thank you to everyone who participated and who sponsored our team to help provide children recovering from homelessness and abuse with happy and healthy memories to carry with them into their new lives.
To everyone who participated in Macaron Day 2015, THANK YOU! Together you helped raised $4,600 in support of our food bank which helps almost 200 families in the community each year.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Michel Firanski of La Bamboche and the many other patisseries who generously donated their time and energy into making Macaron Day a huge success for the 4th year in a row!
