Red Door Family Shelter is home! On June 17, Red Door officially opened its new doors on Booth Avenue, home of the original Red Door Shelter at WoodGreen United Church. This time though, we’re doing things a little differently. While we’re continuing to run our programming and support services, our new shelter will be the first of its kind in Toronto, which will see us occupy four floors of a brand-new condo development in Leslieville.
This has been made possible thanks to the support of the City of Toronto and Harhay Developments, and we’re so excited to be leading with this new, innovative shelter model.
It sure feels good to be home! Friends and neighbours like you have truly made the Red Door Family Shelter feel like home, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be back to our roots.
While we were certainly sad that we couldn’t see you in person, we were glad to have so many of our friends and neighbours “stop by” virtually to say ‘hi’ and open the doors. For those of you who missed it, be sure to check out the full video here.
Thank you Leslieville for rolling out the welcome mat and celebrating this incredible achievement with us today.
