4 fast tips to jump-start your fundraising

  1. Give your fundraising a boost – lead by example and sponsor yourself to get your fundraising started.  Even a small donation of $10 - $20 will help add momentum to your campaign and show your sponsors that you’re serious about achieving your goal.

  2. Ask 4 family members to donate $50 each.  You’ll be well on your way to raising $250!

  3. Make your fundraising plan. Check out our guide - 4 easy steps to raise $500 (below)

  4. Take 5 minutes to post on social media and include a link to your fundraising page. There are some sample images and posts below. Your friends will know that you're serious about reaching your goal. Runners tend to raise an extra $100 - $200 from Facebook alone, so take 5 minutes to get closer to your goal and give our mission greater visibility.

Hey friends!  I’m doing it.  I’m running/walking in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront (5k/half-marathon/marathon) to raise funds for Red Door Family Shelter.  All funds raised will go directly to Red Door’s programs for families.  My goal is to raise $500 which will provide a month of meals for a mother and her children at the Red Door Shelter.  Can you donate a few bucks to help me reach my goal?  All pledges will receive an official tax-receipt.  <link to your page>

Hey Friends,

I'm doing it.

I’m (running/walking) in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront (Marathon/Half-marathon/5k) with the Red Door Family Shelter to raise money to help 105 struggling families put food on the table every day.

A mother should never have to choose between paying the rent and feeding her kids, so let’s all pitch in to make sure families in need in our community have the helping hand they need.

My goal is to raise $500 to provide 1 month of meals for a single mom and family at the Red Door Shelter.   Can you donate $25 today?

Here’s my secure fundraising page where you can make a donation online, and receive an instant charitable tax receipt: <copy and paste your link>

Thanks…this means the world to me.
